DESCRIPTION
This project provided improvements of SR 9 by widening and realigning the existing two-lane roadway to a four-lane highway with new raised medians, turn lanes, and shoulders. Our team served as the General Contractor for this 2.4-mile project for WSDOT on SR 9 between Woodinville and Snohomish. The work was separated into multiple phases and zones, which required extensive pre-planning and coordination with WSDOT, utility districts, public transportation, and surrounding communities.
SCOPE OF WORK
Our team was responsible for clearing and grubbing, grading, storm drainage, crushed gravel surfacing, paving, retaining walls, concrete barriers, guardrails, traffic signal systems, intelligent transportation systems, illumination systems, pavement markings, and stream relocations. We successfully coordinated and implemented multiple extended road closures throughout the course of the project. The road closures were required in order to complete several key elements of the project including but not limited to the new fish crossings, signal bridge, and side street connections to SR 9.
