Project Engineer
General Summary
Our Project Engineer provides technical and administrative support to the Project Management Group including coordinating construction scheduling and communication. The successful project engineers also act as liaisons to project management concerning bids, subcontracting, and field crew work with a focus on project progress.
Basic Responsibilities
Preconstruction
- Work with Project Managers to maximize competitiveness of new construction projects
- Develop a thorough understanding of each project
- Coordinate with subcontractors, and field crews
- Support scheduling of preconstruction activities
- Develop risk recognition and management skills
- Support the project schedule for the construction team and plan for implementation of the project schedule
Project Support
- Develop and demonstrate strong planning skills
- Maintain a thorough understanding of each project from start to finish
- Apply effective problem solving skills
- Support purchase and ensure that materials for construction are on site as needed
- Inspect work at sites for compliance with contract terms and specifications
- Support the safety culture on each project & conduct regular project safety audits
- Complete Extra Work Orders, Change Orders and other document processing
- Develop and demonstrate cost control skills
